If we aren't finding things to be joyful about each and every day, what are we doing? Life is too short not to enjoy it! Life can be both difficult and amazing. It can be messy and beautiful, especially when we do it together!
in my other life
After having a severe headache that lasted a month, I finally gave in and went to the hospital. I was there for 9 days. With every test ran, no root cause found, I left with follow up appointments and a bag full of medication that made it impossible for me to take care of myself or my children. Despite being heavily medicated, I could barely open my eyes without blinding pain. I became so disconnected from myself, my family, and my friends. I didn’t know if the pain would go away or if this would be the best I ever felt again.
I started giving thanks for a soft pillow and a cozy bed. The more I added, the more I found to be grateful for.
In those quiet and frightening times, I wasn’t able to leave the house due to the chronic pain. My doctor suggested I look for support
groups on Facebook. I found a few friends in chronic pain groups that shared parts of my story. Without them, I don't know how I would have handled the pain, stress, and fear that I felt. It meant everything to have others understand me. I felt seen and heard. I wanted others to experience the relief of not being alone, so, I created I Will Find
Joy originally as a Facebook Group in 2007.
"Be unapologetic about finding what lights you up in this world and do more of it!"
- Kristine
While my chronic pain and illness has continued, life’s new plot twists have included: divorce, death of loved ones, and moving away from family and friends to build a new life. All of these experiences have changed me and I’ll never forget the impact they had on my life. I am so grateful for all of the people who were by my side during those difficult times. With all of the love and support I receive, it has become my passion to be a light for anyone else going through challenging times.
I decided to think bigger and founded I Will Find Joy, LLC to share my experiences and all the ways I’ve chosen to put myself back together, including what worked and what didn’t!
